Edit Home page freezes

  • Ok,
    I’m brand new to WordPress.

    Updated to 4.5.3

    The following Plugins are on the site:
    – Akismet 3.1.11
    – JSON API 1.1.1
    – Revolution Slider 4.3.8
    – WordPress Importer 0.6.1
    – WPBakery Visual Composer 4.1.2
    – Wufoo Shortcode Plugin 1.43

    I updated the version of WordPress and some of the Plugins.
    The site is ok but I cannot edit the Home Page.
    When I hit edit it just sits there with “Loading, please wait…”
    Same for using “Frontend Edit”

    Now I turned off all the Plugins which does break the site.
    So turning them on one by one I find that the plugin that is not compatible is WPBakery Visual Composer.

    When on the site works fine but I am not able to edit
    When off the site is broke but I can edit the Home page.

    I cannot find a log of what I updated which seems strange for what is supposed to be such a user-friendly software.

    I cannot find where Version compatibility listings are?

    I don’t know if updating WPBakery Visual Composer nullified it’s license.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Since that is a commercial plugin, we ask that you please go to their official support channel, so you can get support from the people who know it best.

    Forum volunteers are also not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why it is not working properly. Other community members who may have faced your issue might be able to help you but your best bet is your product’s developer. Keep in mind we encourage you to use the official support venues, as it allows the developers to be aware of issues with their code and gives back to the community in a more robust way.
