    The Edit Image button in the admin media library is no longer displaying after upgrading from 3.8 to 4.4.2. I also do not have any checkboxes displaying next to the images in the list view, so I can’t delete items. The checkbox at the top and bottom of the list that usually checks all the boxes is there but that’s the only checkbox.

    I have tried disabling all plugins, reverting to 2016 theme, and verifying that php gd is running on my godaddy server.

    Anyone have any other ideas?

  • What type of file are you uploading to edit? Is it a JPG/JPEG?

    Yeah, the images I’m looking at trying to change are image/jpeg, though the site does use a few gifs/pngs.

    No edit media or checkboxes/delete in WP Media Library

    It ended up being a wp_capabilities problem after all.

    My client has a custom price tier showing up for certain user roles so he had 2 roles assigned to himself like :

    a:2:{s:13:”administrator”;b:1;s:11:”customer_l1″;b:1;}

    Changing it to just

    a:1:{s:13:”administrator”;s:1:”1″;}

    brought the controls back.
