• Theme: Workability

when i uploaded an image, it generated 7 different sizes of it: (4 from wp, 3 from the theme)
    filename-100×100.png (wp thumbnail 300 x 100)
    filename-300×202.png (wp medium: max 300 x 300)
    filename-785×529.png (wp large: max 785 x 1024)
    filename.png (wp original)
    filename-220×170.png (theme default Small)
    filename-300×100.png (theme default Medium)
    filename-300×420.png (theme default Portrait)
    filename-460×350.png (theme default Big)
ALL the above image is 664 in permission. (my upload directory is 775)

    Problem:
I want to change the thumbnail of the feature image (system never crop it right)
    > click on feature image
    > select the image
    > edit image
    > Selected the desired area with aspect ratio 3:1
    > saved as thumbnail only
    > click update
I have click edit image again, ensure the thumbnail is changed.

on the ftp, i found that there were extra version of the same image.
    e.g. fileName-e1378709133259-300×100.png (664)

back to the post, the feature image is NOT fileName-e1378709133259-300×100.png, but filename-100×100.png

The result on frontend is filename-300×100.png …

    its so weird.

Can anyone please give advise on it?
    thanks

back to the post, the feature image is NOT fileName-e1378709133259-300×100.png, but filename-100×100.png

fixed this problem by edit the theme’s function.php
    from
    set_post_thumbnail_size(100, 100, true);
    to
    set_post_thumbnail_size(300, 100, true);

then now, the backend feature image is the same as front end

    still can’t find anything about:
    fileName-e1378709133259-300×100.png

i found all wordpress CMS has the same problem.

    no one face it?

I’m sorry but as you are using a non-WPORG theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s developers – paid or otherwise. We only support themes downloaded from www.ads-software.com here.

    the non-WPORG issue is solved.

    how about this:
    fileName-e1378709133259-300×100.png

i have tried it on a new install WP with default theme.
the edited image still have those code in the filename, and doesn’t replaced the originally generated thumbnail.

    chmod all 775
