• Hi, I cannot find anything in forum to help me directly.

I have Vantage theme with custom things, My website is daretodreamforlife.com

I have updated my content in back office for my home – front page and I click update and it shows it in back office but does not show it on front end.

Previously there was another place to go to edit content, but my web developer changed something and we are no longer working together.

    Desperately need help to update!

    Thanks.

can you quickly reset you theme to the default and see if the issue disappears. (also check to see if the settings under Settings -> Reading are correct for what you’re trying to do)

Hi, thanks for your note. Sorry to say I don’t know how to reset the theme to the default and or do not understand what you are asking under “Settings under setting- Reading are correct for what you’re trying to do”.

    Can you please clarify.

    Thanks.

Check 4:45 mark on this video – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SW3o7rSn-TY to active a theme from a list of default or installed themes.

Another option it to ask vantage theme support at https://www.ads-software.com/support/theme/vantage

your front page is using a page template with the file name home-panels.php – and some or all of the customizations of the front page might be in that template file.

it shows it in back office but does not show it on front end.

you might need to be more specific and post what you edited and what you are trying to achieve.

    Hi Michael, thanks.

How would I find the home-panels.php and update my verbiage/content so it reflects on the front end?

What I am trying to achieve is changing the verbiage on the Home page. And may change several times, so need to know how to do that.

Can you help me further? Thanks.

How would I find the home-panels.php

try looking into ‘dashboard – appearance – editor’ in the list of files on the right…

Hi Michael again….I found the home-panels.php and it is all code. And then it referred to plugin – site origin..and went there and that is all code too. There use to be a special place to update the content like in sections on the one of the back offices home page in addition to the front page which will not update. So still can’t figure out where to update my text.

If you could let me know. Thanks.

Thank you for the responses, but i am a newbie to websites and the web developer added customed things to a basic site. Things are overriding. Even some more trained individuals then me have no idea. I know how to update most things. The front home page is the absolutely most frustrating thing. I have checked out all places mentioned and the files are just code – where would I update the text so the website updates? Thanks.

and the web developer added customed things to a basic site.

    that exactly is the problem for the volunteer helpers here as well;
we have no idea what and how much the developer has customized.

and the files are just code

in general, the code is pointing to other files or functions or maybe plugins…

some text blocks are in ‘textwidgets’ which you might find under ‘dashboard – appearance – widgets’ – you have to identify the corresponding widget area … they seem to be related to some ‘siteorigin’ stuff.

for help with those areas which are not cutomized, the theme’s developer also seems to have some support forum the site: https://siteorigin.com/thread/
