edit of index.php has no affect

  • I am using the Twenty Ten theme and when I remove the tag that calls the Header template, namely, <?php get_header() ?>, from the index.php file, shouldn’t my header not appear? However, when I update the index.php, the header image still appears. Likewise results with footer.php. What am I not seeing?

  • do you use a static front page or something?

    Also, removing the header or footer will break your site.

    They both have required calls that make things function.

    Yes all my pages are static for a CMS

    DanielPh, did you ever get this figured out? I tried the same thing, as I am trying to customize my index.php page. I expected the page to break when I removed the header and footer but nothing happened.
