it works fine infact all other pages are fine except this one page

Ah – now it would have helped if you’d mentioned earlier that the problem was just with this one, long, page. My best guess is that your server is configured to limit the amount of data being passed back to WordPress or any other script.

On a generally sluggish site, this could be as simple as a timeout because the site is struggling. In that case, deactivating plugins, reducing image sizes and/or switching themes can increase overall performance and sidestep the issue. But on a reasonably fast site, it may be just that the server is tied down a little too tight. Other than trying to persuade your hosts to relax the server configs a little (unlikely), your only other option is to split very long Posts into 2 or more shorter interlinked Posts.

Esmi this is not a post its a page , also since this problem has been occuring i have deactivated and removed about 5 plugins, and one more recently i dont think its because of server is configured to limit the amount of data being passed back to WordPress or any other script.

i am using a 1and1 unlimited package i dont think they will have a limit on the amount of data i pass, check it out .

this is not a post its a page

Sorry. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a Post or a Page, though. The principle applies to both.

i dont think its because of server is configured to limit the amount of data being passed back to WordPress or any other script.

All servers have limits in their configurations. Otherwise a rogue script could run wild and consume all of the resources on a shared server. This isn’t about space or bandwidth. It’s about protecting server resources.

Esmi i just went in to my database and to that specific page in the database the ping status for that page says “closed” ?? is there something wrong

if it was from my host what should i tell them

You could try looking in your server’s error logs (if you have access to them) for any signs of a timeout or an indication that the MySQL server disappeared. You could also contact them with the details of the issue and ask them if they know of any reason why you cannot edit long posts.

In the meantime, you could have a look in the wp_posts table of your database to see if your post’s content is still stored in there. It might be easiest to download a backup of the database to your computer and start searching through that file.

    is there something wrong

No. That’s just like turning comments off on a Post or Page.

i just checked the content word from my databas it is 5700 words and now i created a new page and pasted the data there its working fine but i wonder for how long.

I’ve seen Pages with more content post & edit quite happily but it really does depend upon the hosts and the individual install. Do you have any plugins that are intended to work in the back end of the site only – such as some of the related post plugins?

i dont really have any plugin related to the posts they are mostly administration related.
