Edit page template not working as expected

Hi,

I am having trouble controlling the templates used in the events plugin.

As far as I can see I edit page and select a template for the main events page i.e. /events/

Same goes for the main category page /events/categories/

When I click into a category i.e. /events/categories/catgeroy-name/ I can click edit page and select a template but it does not effect the template of this category and instead this displays the default page template.

Is there a setting I am missing here?
