• I’m sure I’m just missing a setting somewhere, but – I’ve got a user role restricted to editing only pages they’ve created, which works fine, EXCEPT for a page that is password protected. That page does not show up in the list of pages they can edit and attempting to go to it directly gives me an “access denied” message.

Is there a setting to allow a a restricted role to edit password protected pages that I’m missing?

    Thanks!

  • Hi Bob,

It is an interesting question and on top of my head I do not believe that there is any difference between regular and password protected page. Both are treated pretty much the same way by the WordPress core with the only exception of medium “Enter Password” form for protected pages.

I’ll run few tests on my end to see if I can reproduce the issue and will keep you updated.

    Thank you.

Thanks for the response! I was able to convince the client that a page already restricted by AAM didn’t require password protection as well, so it’s no longer an issue for me. I greatly appreciate you looking into it, though.

    Thanks!
