I’ve been building a new site and using pods. It has been working fine. I logged in today and the ‘Edit pods’ link is missing from the admin menu.

I cleared the pods cache and it is working again.

Every time I edit an Elementor template that uses a pods custom field, the ‘Edit Pods’ disappears from the admin menu until I clear the cache after editing. Then it shows again.

What hosting provider are you using and do they have object caching available? Have you tried using the Pods Alternative Cache plugin yet?

It is a cloud server at IONOS. I do not think there is any cache running.
I am not familiar with the Pods cache plugin.

Try contacting your host and asking them about enabling object cache. In the mean time, you can also try to install the Pods Alternative Cache plugin and see if that helps you with the problem you are experiencing here. There’s no config needed there, it just gets installed and it turns itself on.

Hi Scott, I haven’t tried the Pods Alt Cache yet. My server uses Plesk and I see where I can enable nginx cache. Is this the object cache you were suggesting?
    Thanks, John

Nginx cache is not object caching for PHP, you may want to try Pods Alternative Cache given the information you’ve provided.

I can give you more details if you reply with your Site Health information.

You can get that by going to Tools > Site Health > Info > click “Copy site info to clipboard” and then paste the contents here.

We haven’t heard back from you about this, perhaps your issues have been resolved through cache configuration or a more recent Pods update.

We’ll keep this open to give you some more time to let us know if it’s resolved for you.
