• Since updating to WordPress 4.9.6, I can no longer scroll on the Edit Post page if the text field is active, ie: I have text selected. For example, if I highlight some text at the bottom of my post that I would like to change the font style or formatting for, the screen seizes up and I can’t scroll back to the top and select the formatting change I want to make. This problem is specific to my iPad Air. The Edit Post page works fine on my laptop.

Any suggestions or similar experiences? Thanks!

4.9.6 brought some changes in TinyMCE, the page/post editor.?

First off, make sure you (1) clear any and all caches on your server and (2) similarly clear cache in your browser.

Unfortunately, that didn’t help. I dumped browser cache, but my host said they didn’t cache files. So I deactivated plugins to see if they were getting in the way, but did not find the culprit.

Just for kicks, I tried to edit a post on my iPhone 7 and encountered the same issue.

    Hey @tjholcomb1225,

Can you tell me more about your site? What theme are you using? Were you able to deactivate all plugins when testing? Which browser are you using when you experience the issue?

Hi Jonathan. I am using the Kadence theme, Pinnacle. I did not deactivate all plugins, but I did post on the Kadence forums asking which plugins might affect tineyMCE. I suppose I could deactivate everything, then add them back in until I find the problem.

I experience the issue in both Chrome and Safari.

To rule out any plugin/theme conflict, try:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Seventeen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

Alternately, if you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

    Hi @tjholcomb1225,
I have the same problem. I’m curious if you have found a solution.

‘Fraid not, @edlevin2015. I went back and forth several times with my theme developers, but with no luck.

I am having the same issue and its frustrating since i use my ipad for my blog. I did everything listed above and nothing changed.
