• Simply, when visiting the user profile on locahost, the ability to edit the profile isn’t available. When tested on a remote environment it is.

I have of course run a plug-in compatibility check. I even changed the php version being used by XAMPP to the same as my remote server. All with no luck.

I did read one solution as “move the development to remote”. But that is simply not a feasible for development.

I am hoping to purchase the bundle for this plug-in, but if I can’t test it properly on localhost, I can’t properly evaluate it.

Note: A similar issue was addressed here before, however the author didn’t explain exactly how they resolved it (that’s nice ?? ). Link: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/edit-profile-page-not-working-2/

Any help or insight would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hi @darrenmooney,

Do you mean that you don’t have gear icon -> edit profile dropdown item on your user page? Have you tried to create new test user role and check this issue.
Please check that you have “Can edit their profile?” checked in Ultimate member -> User roles and your user role.

You can also try to set “Role priority” to 100 for your admin user role and see if it helps.

    Regards.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the reply.

Yes, the gear icon isn’t there. Likewise the add icon on the cover image, and avatar menu.

I have now tried to create a test user. Same result.

I had previously confirmed that “Can edit their profile” is checked.

I had previously tested that the admin role had a “Role priority” to 100.

However, upon testing the “test” user. I noticed from an unrelated logged in check on the theme (just a plceholder for a login menu in the menu), that the user wasn’t being detected as logged in. However, going to account/ or other UM pages, the user is back to being detected as logged in.

Everything else is functioning and detecting the logged in state, apart from the profile/. This is the very same with the admin user.

To follow up on seeing the profile as logged out, when in fact I am logged in, see image.

    Hi @darrenmooney,

Do you have User page assigned in Ultimate member -> Settings -> General -> Pages?

    Regards.

Yes, of course. It was all pretty much default.

This morning, I installed a fresh test copy of WP, with a bare-bones development theme (no plugins, js, or functions), fresh download of UM, still the same result.

I even tried different browsers with the same result.

As per that past support thread I refereed to. Do you know of any PHP modules that might be causing this? It’s the only thing that I can think of right now.
