Edit slideshow

    Relatively novice to WP although I normally consider myself pretty tech savvy in general but am hitting a brick wall here. Have taken over the management of WP powered website and am having trouble finding where the behind-the-scenes source is for the slideshow on the home page at:

    athe.org.uk

    When I go to edit the home page I can find no reference to the slide show (visual view) and where to change the content. I have looked around at various media folders but can’t trace the images on display to any one source. In WP editing view I have menu items on the left hand side to Envira Gallery and Meta Slider. On the home page there are options to insert these last two but no evidence of either of them having been used to create this slide show. Clicking on them does show that images have been added into both but again I can find no one source of images which are definite to the one on the home page.

    Thanks for any help and sorry if this is a really obvious fix.

  • Hey Rossulik,

    I may need more info to help you pinpoint exactly how to change the images in that slider, but let me share with you what I have found so far and see if that helps. When I inspect your page (right clicking on your site and selecting inspect in Chrome) I see that the slider is called “flexslider home”. That can come in handy to know exactly what that gallery is called.

    Next, have you tried Appearance > Customize from the WordPress dashboard? The theme you are using is Nevia, and the author provides support for this specific theme here (I don’t have this theme so can’t give specific instructions how it handles the slider).

    It looks like the default slideshow for this theme is ‘LayerSlider’, and you can check out their documentation on how to manage it here.

    Hey Tall Chris

    Sorry for slow reply – just getting a chance to have a proper look now. Many thanks for the pointers, it helped nudge me into finally finding where to edit it. Going to the home page in WPAdmin then selecting Appearance>Theme options>Slider revealed where those specific photos could be edited.

    Having a quick scan through the LayerSlider documentation they mentioned it was sometimes bundled for free with specific themes hence why I had no plugin option to find and edit from there.
