Edit Slideshow Slides and Maintain Sequence Order

  • When first setting up the slideshow you have to enter slides in reverse order, last slide first. Now I need to change several slides near the end of the slideshow, but after publishing I notice in the right hand column on the Edit Slideshow page that the slides are in numerical sequence with the last slides (first slides added) at the bottom of the stack and when clicking Insert Image Slide it adds the slide at the top of the stack. This is a problem because I need to add slides at the end of the show (bottom of the stack) and the show does not loop, it reaches the last slide and freezes, which is how I want it. There are 36 slides in the slideshow. Now, please explain to me how the simple task of changing a few slides at the end of the show is accomplished. I feel like a moron for not being able to figure out such a basic thing. And what does it mean by – Don’t let search engines follow link?

    Do you mean you’d like to move the first slide to the bottom of the slides list? You can drag te slides by holding down your left mouse button on the slides’ header.

    The “Don’t let search engines follow link” option has to do with Search Engine Optimalisation (SEO). A search engine, like Google, will follow all links (URLs) on your website to see what’s on your website and display it in the search results. However, sometimes you don’t want search engines to follow a link, like when you have a link that goes to a different website. You can then set that option.

    Thanks, Stefan, I was able to add new slides but now have an anomaly in Firefox. If you go here you will see that the slideshow in Firefox is flashing at certain points, it is obvious where, but in Chrome, IE10, and Comodo Dragon browsers it is fine. Any suggestions how to fix the Firefox anomaly? Before I added the new slides it was okay in Firefox and the others.

    BTW – I purged the cache in Firefox and it didn’t help.

    I see you’re using multiple images to create a kind of animation-like presentation. This looks fine in a browser like Chrome, because it calculates element sizes before showing the actual element. The elements being images in your case.

    However, Firefox doesn’t start calculaten an element’s size until it is visible on the page. This causes the image element to be visibly adjusted, which leads to the flashing you’re describing.

    Wonder why it was ok until I removed a few slides and added several more? Also wonder why, since the images are all an identical size (940×116) Firefox is struggling. Guess I am just to much of a beginner to fully comprehend. It would appear that there is no work-around for this or you would have mentioned it.
