I have a 1 language website that default language is german, i need to change the billing address and shipping address to:

    Billing address:
    Teilnehmer(Participant): and

    Shipping address
    Rechnungsaddresse(invoice address)

(I already made other changes on the frontend/form with translation filters, which doesnt seem to work with email templates, so i am editing the emails templates now.)

Is it enough to edit email-addresses.php template in my childtheme, or i need to edit some other translation file too? I also have a emails/plain/ files in woocommerce templates, which one i need to edit?

    Thank you for your answer.

  • Hello,

As an alternative solution, you will be able to change text by using a free translation plugin like Loco Translate. That way, you can change the phrase/words to be what you’d like.

To learn more, please refer to our documentation:
    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-localization/#section-5

    Thanks.

    Hi,
thank you for your answer! I ve done both, changed the strings in the main template file emails/email-addresses.php, also used Loco translate plugin and translated those strings, but it looks like the changes are not reflected on the email invoice. a bit confused where i should look for the translation to work.

Website is in swiss german, my setup is:
Oxygen builder+ custom functionality plugin so i can change woocomemrce core fields as Oxygen disables themes completely.
I also use Kadence WooCommerce Email Designer to design emails.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

I’d like to see the site configuration, can you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? It is located under WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

Hi Igor, thanks for you help, i figured it out!
Turns out Kadence WooCommerce Email Designer plugin overrides all the email templates, so i used Loco Translate to translate the strings and now it works!

    Thank you!
