• In general, I hate page builder and most of the time, I made some customs builder with ACF and custom CSS. ACF will support Gutenberg ??

For me, Gutenberg will bring a new standard for editing content in WordPress. The traditional editor is far too limited for our needs with rich media. And each Page builder have too many differents solutions with very complicate HTML code.

Since 2005, I use a lot Markdown langage for editing et publishing all my content. With Gutenberg and the plugin Averroes https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/averroes/#description , you can edit all you content with ease.
You really should learn Markdown in 15 minutes. That a very popular langage for editors; on CMS, mobile app and much more.

Thanks to the Gutenberg team for all this huge amount of work.

  • Why not just ‘markdown’ without Gutenberg?

Gutenberg definitely looks great, now that the preview is working.

I’ve been using markdown for a year now. It really is much more efficient.

@gabo13 because Gutenberg is very goog for managing rich media.

I dislike the Gutenberg editor and installed the Classic Editor plugin. Gutenberg does support Markdown via a block. To me, WordPress has lost its way. It is no longer a blogging tool. It is trying to compete with Wix and Medium.

Averroes does not work in my tests.

I upgraded to wordpress 5.0 and now I can not write my articles. At first all good, but when I get to the part where the visible part of the post ends it does not let me go down and keep writing. I lose all the content behind the bottom of the post configuration, what to do please? I want to use Gutenberg

@aglekis You can also use EditorsKit( previously Block Options ) plugin : https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/block-options/ . I’ve recently added Markdown which works on RichText editor instead of separate block. Here’s the preview on how the integration works :

If you are interested in Markdown in Gutenberg, Jetpack gives a Markdown block too.
