  • Not a good idea to modify core files ever.

Download a new copy of WP to your local computer and using FTP or CPanel replace the wp-admin folder.

Thank you so much for your prompt reply.

But, I am sorry that still didn’t work after replacing wp-admin folder , please advice further Thank you again!

    Try renaming the plugins folder:

    wp-content
        plugins.HOLD

IF that doesn’t work, rename your currently active theme:

    wp-content
       themes
           yourtheme.HOLD

yourtheme = whatever theme is currently activated on your site when this happened

IF that doesn’t work, download another new copy of WP and replace all files and folders EXCEPT wp-content and wp-config.php – delete the old versions before uploading the new ones.

?? I am sorry, i have tried all these options, but still didn’t work i have a lot of content on my website Its 4 years old site. Now instead of white screen its showing : https://i.imgur.com/P23DYfY.png

and my domain is showing .com/index.php?theme_license=true

    Please advice ??

Seems that you have edited the footer.php of some comercial theme.
Try rename your wp-content/themes/themerenamed folder to use the default wordpress theme for now. Then take a backup of your theme before some changes and try install.

If you just modified the WordPress core, download and replace the existent wp-admin folder.
To avoid some mistakes, you can try rename this wp-admin to wp-admin-old and upload the wp-admin folder complete without changes.

Never change de wordpress core or someting will blow up!

    Thanks for your reply.

As you have read above Sir, i have already replaced all files and folders EXCEPT wp-content and wp-config.php – deleted the old versions before uploading the new ones. I didn’t edit footer.php , the default wordpress commercial links are already there in footer.php . but after replacing the files as mentioned above, its show that message https://i.imgur.com/P23DYfY.png

    Thanks please advice.

Please advice further. I will be really thankful to you!

the default wordpress commercial links are already there

There is no such thing and that error message is not from WordPress. So that’s something from a theme you have on the site – probably a theme that is coded so you can’t change the footer.

Do you have a copy of Twenty Fifteen or Twenty Fourteen in the theme folder? If not, upload one manually.

Then remove that other theme entirely. Make a copy to your local computer if you want to save the files.
