We received an order and the customers Paypal account was authorised but not captured. As we were missing some items we edited the order in Woocommerce. The totals were recalculated to the lower amount. When capture was processed the customers account was charged the original authorization amount not the lower revised amount. Woocommerce showed the lower amount was captured but on checking our Payapl account we received the full authorisation.

    Hi @beadpage,

As of now, PayPal Payments can only capture the full amount that was originally authorized. So while you can change the order total in WooCommerce, the authorized amount at PayPal is already final. We are working to enable capturing an amount lower than the originally authorized one in one of our upcoming updates.
There will probably be a smaller bugfix update within this month though before we are adding new functionality after the holidays.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

Please advise when the functionality is added. We have had to go back to the old plugin in the interim as this retrograde in functionality doesn’t work for us.

I am still waiting to hear whether this functionality had been fixed in the plug in. Still using old plugin but time is running out before it is no longer supported May have to frop Paypal as a payment method.
