in the Multi form donation template I would like to be able to set manual labels (like with the legacy donation form) and not show the amount in the button.

Is that something that is possible?

  • Yeah, I am wondering about the same question. it is relatively easily possible if you have a child theme and copy over the php files and just swap around the label and value. but I am looking for something less for this particular landing page I have for a non-profit.

    Hey there,

    Happy to clarify here.

The new multi step donation form was designed in a way that the description for each donation level is added as a floating box with an explanation of what that amount means. It means that, for now, we do not have the ability to display the entire description instead of the amount. If you need an explicit description of the amount, then the legacy form should be the best option here.

Although we do not have this feature out of the box, it would be interesting and valuable for us to understand how it would work for you and how it would improve your workflow, so the product development team has some insights about how it would behave.

Also, is there any workaround that you are using? It would be good to hear from you about that too, and what this feature would allow you to do. All ideas are appreciated, and I’m happy to share your insights with the product development team so that they can discuss the feasibility of this feature.

I hope it clarifies and looking forward to hearing back from you!

    Have a great day!

@matheusfd Thank you for responding so clearly.

I would like to give each donation level a name (example gold, platinum, silver etc.) so I would like the donor to be able to see the level they chose without a floating label (I am wondering if I can switch it around and have the label be the level and the amount floating).

For now we have not found a workaround and we are just using the standard form for this.

    Thank you

Came across this discussion looking to resolve the same issue, and just wanted to add my voice to it.

I’m using the latest forms, not the legacy ones.

My donation levels are set by unit count. For example 1 unit may carry a price of $5. I then have multiple donation levels of 1 unit ($5), 5 units ($25), 10 units ($50), etc.

However on the front end the user only sees the dollar amounts at first glance, and would have to do mental math to calculate the number of units. They will only see the unit count text label if they happen to hover their mouse over the buttons, or touch a button with their finger on a phone – in both cases, they’ve already done the math on their own at that point.

I’d prefer if it was easier for the end user to simply know how many units they want and hit a button accordingly. Perhaps an option to switch it around where the button shows the label, and the dollar amount shows in the pop up box.

I’m currently on the Plus plan subscription.
