I have spent the last few hours searching through the forum archives and google for a solution to my problem, but no luck. So, I am hoping you guys can help me out. My site is: https://www.nickstirs.com

(sorry for the long introduction, but I wanted to give you all the information I have)

I was working with the Montezuma theme and had the editor open. I was holding my young son, who started slamming on the keys and mouse buttons.

Then the page reloaded… and I got a server error. Uh oh.

Now I cannot access my site – not the public part, the admin page, nothing. I assume he randomly deleted/changed something, but I have no way of knowing exactly what was changed.

I think I may need to “restart” the whole thing. I have *most of my posts backed up, so it won’t be a total disaster.

    1. Is there are way I might be able to access my dashboard and install a different theme without deleting all the content?

    2. If not, how on earth do I get rid of wordpress and start over? I am hosting my site with BlueHost.

    Thanks in advance!

  • With Bluehost, you can first check with them to see if they have a backup from when your site was good before the random delete/change.

But to get rid of it is also easy. If you installed using the Bluehost automatic installer, you can log into Bluehost and choose the uninstall option. Make sure to manually delete the wp-content folder after the uninstall is done, to delete all themes and plugins.

If you didn’t use the automatic installer, you can just manually delete the WordPress files by going into the File Manager of your Bluehost cPanel. You will want to delete any files and folders that start with wp-
