Editing Home Page

  • When I click on “Pages” I do not have a “home” page. If I add a home page, then I have double “homes” when I visit my website. So it seems there is one already there, however, I am unable to edit the page. Even when on the home page, the “edit page” button disappears. Does anyone know why this happens? I even tried a different theme to see if it was the theme itself, but still same thing occurred.

    Do you have a custom menu setup? I know some themes can create a home link if there is no menu setup or being used. From your Dashboard go to Appearance > Customize > Menu > Menu Locations. If the dropdowns say — Select — then it means the theme is creating that home link.
