    Hi,

    I’m currently using the Jetpack plugin to enable users to subscribe to my blog posts.

    This plugin emails the user every time I post which is great… but I would like to edit the email “template” that is being sent to the user but I have no clue of how to do that..

    Does anyone have any guidance or suggestions, on how I could change this.

    Thanks

    I’m afraid that’s not possible. You cannot change the design of the email.

    You can, however, control how much of your post is sent to your subscribers:

    • If you go to Settings > Reading in your dashboard, you can change your Feed Settings to “Summary”. Once you save your changes, all subscription emails will only include an excerpt of your post, with a link to continue reading on the site.
    • If your Feed settings are set to “Full Post”, you can split the content of each one of your blog posts in 2 parts thanks to the More tag:
      <!--more-->

      Everything that is above the More tag will appear on your home page and in the subscription emails, followed by a link inviting users to click to continue reading; everything that is below that tag will only appear on the post’s page.

      You can read more about it here:
      https://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/

    You can also customize the content of the confirmation emails sent when a reader subscribes. To do so, please go to Settings > Reading in your dashboard.

    I am looking for the same thing. Is there anyway we can do this please?

    @jessicana As I mentioned above, it is not possible to create email templates with Jetpack Subscriptions. You can, however, control the content that is sent to your subscribers by following the instructions above.

    What a bummer. I really hope it becomes a feature in one of the next few releases.

    I would like to customize the subscription emails as well. Currently, my primary reason for doing so is that I would like to remove the profile pic of the post author.

    my primary reason for doing so is that I would like to remove the profile pic of the post author.

    You could remove that picture by changing the post author’s email address under Users > All Users in your dashboard. You’ll want to change it to another email address with a different Gravatar, or to an address that is not linked to any Gravatar account.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks for the reply, Jeremy. However, I’m unable to use the method you prescribed to eliminate the author’s photo in the subscription email, because I can find no options within the All Users menu to remove the pic. In subscription emails, the pic appears to be some generic purple design.

    FYI:

    • The Gravitar feature in Jetpack is disabled and has never been used on our website.
    • Furthermore, in the WordPress Dashboard under Settings >> Discussion >> Avatars, the “Show Avatars” check box is unchecked and the Default Avatar has “Blank” selected.
    • An example of the image included in subscription emails can be obtained here.

    That purple image is a default Gravatar image, and appears because the post author’s email address is not linked to any Gravatar account at the moment. It is not linked to the Gravatar Hovercards Jetpack module.

    To fix it, you’ll need to go to the following page:
    https://en.gravatar.com/emails/

    There, add in the email address used by the post author (you can find that address under Users > All Users in your dashboard). Once you’ve done so, add an image to that email address.

    Although you may not be able to change the template itself, I have seen where the “from” field has the Blog’s Name rather than, “From WordPress.” How can we do that?

    If you fill in the “Site Title” filed under Settings > General in your dashboard, Jetpack Subscriptions will use that field as the Sender name.

    There, add in the email address used by the post author (you can find that address under Users > All Users in your dashboard). Once you’ve done so, add an image to that email address.

    So, there is no way to totally remove a photo from Jetpack Subscriptions? The only option is to change the photo?

    That’s correct. You can, however, use just about any image. It can be a company logo, a profile picture, or just a grey square.

    @jeremy Herve – Thanks!!

    I really hope you implement the ability to edit the email to subscriber notifications soon!

    Thanks

    I wish I could edit the WordPress logo in the email to be my own logo.
