Editing Post Category

Hello,

I would like to use javascript to send a REST API request to wordpress to change a specific Post’s Category from A to B.

I couldnt find this in the documentation. Appreciaite if someone can guide me in the process of creating the REST request using javascript (with plain authentication) and the json request to change the specific post’s category from Category A to Category B
