editing receipt viewed in browser

Hi Christa,

We’re going to be changing the way we do that completely. What I would recommend instead is customizing the email receipt itself to have all of the information in it directly. That’s the most reliable way to get your donor the information they need, particularly adding the tax number and company address.

You can customize all of that in “Donations > Settings” and then the “Emails” tab.

I can see where i need to edit text / add code in the “Donations > Settings” and then the “Emails” tab, but I’d love some instructions on how to get the donor’s actual receipt info into that. I don’t want to make them sign up for an account with my site and, at present, the “view receipt” link doesn’t seem to work. just takes them to a blank page.

i have GIVE payment’s in test mode right now, but i’ve used it before and didn’t have this issue.

Hi there,

If you go to the Emails tab (as you mentioned) you’ll see the text editor where your email confirmation message is. Directly under that editor you can see these shortcodes that are placeholders for all the information related to the donation.

For example, you could change it to the following:

Dear {name},

Thank you for your donation. Here is your donation receipt:

Donated to: {donation}
Donor Name: {fullname}
Donor Email: {user_email}
Date of donation: {date}
Amount donated: {price}

Your generosity is appreciated!

Sincerely,
{sitename}

There are other shortcodes available just look below the editor.
