Editing site & posts offline

  • Hi all,

    I know the topic has been touched upon quite a lot but I am still unsure of what I need to do for my needs.

    I want to download the latest version of WordPress to make and maintain a blog/website for people to follow whilst I’m on my travels. I plan to update it regularly with new posts, videos, photos etc and I will often be in places without an internet connection.

    Obviously I won’t be able to publish anything online without a connection but I want to be able to update my site offline to the point of upload so when I do find internet all I have to do is publish my saved changes.

    I’ve read about MAMP a little but became confused and thought it seemed to in-depth for my wants and needs. I have a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.5.8 Leopard. Could somebody please shed some light on what I need to do? I’d be very grateful!

    Can you use the full features of WordPress’ customisable templates with a weblog client or is it literally for updating posts only?

    You can easily do it by MS-Word 2007 .
    Their is an option to directly publish your post from WORD to wordpress or many others blog platform.
    I just write post in WORD and save it. When i wanna publish i just publish it from WORD to wordpress blog.

    Okay thanks, that’s useful to know! Does this mean I have to have already made my WordPress blog though and have it to look how I want? I’m assuming I can update posts on it but I can’t change the blog itself?

    Okay I think I’m starting to work this out, I have answered my previous question.

    My next question is this. If I download WP to create a unique blog can I then use a blog client to update posts in that or do they only work with blogs created online at wordpress.com?

    A blog client can be used to create or edit posts with www.ads-software.com, wordpress.com and on a localhost (mamp).
