Editing theme like this (see link)

hey!
i need some help. i’m a newbie in wp, but i think with a bit of knowledge it’s easy to get what i want ?? – i want my wp page to look like this; https://www.karakterconcept.com/
I found a theme which is similar, but how can i get to pop the images “out” – get bigger – when you click at them? (and the rest follows the flow).

i hope you know what i mean ?? if not let me know. I’ll try to explain further.
