Editing toolbar is missing

  • I hope somebody can help me please?

    I’m quite tech savvy, but am abit stuck, I’ve reached my limit I think.

    I have tried searching online but have come back to the forum.

    I went through some “old” posts that I found but I really am not sure how to add it back in.

    I haven’t added anything new or changed my theme, I can’t edit the text/put in headers or anything and my meta stats for each page are always negative as I can’t add/edit headings etc.

    Also wondered if I could ask another question, do I add meta data to pictures/images in the media library? If they are referred to anywhere on a post for example, will the link break if I change anything to the picture data itself?

  • Hello,

    Which bar do you mean by ‘editing toolbar’? You mean that you don’t see the Admin Toolbar when you visit the front view of your website?

    As for the MetaData of the media files especially Photographs they are usually only used for the ‘alt’ and ‘title’ fields when you hover over an image and a description for some gallery. That being said there shouldn’t be a problem but that’s always a different case with theme developers as some tend to go off rails and do crazy stuff ?? .

    Hi thank you for info about meta data and my pictures.

    This is what I mean, hope you can see this image OK I just print screened it.

    I can’t select the font paragraph/heading, add a link, or anything, its completely gone, but I can’t say for sure when it disappeared.

    Strange, if you haven’t updated anything at all there shouldn’t be a problem.

    You could always check your browsers Console for any error logs just in case there’s something to help out as to why it is not loading the buttons, because the placeholder for them seems to be there.

    Unfortunately without being able to have access to see the code ourselves I ( and the others in here ) can only point to some directions.

    I have managed to get part of the toolbar back, so I can now bold/italic through to proofread. But I do not have the 2nd row where you can add hyperlinks or select the header (1/2/3/paragraph).

    Only have 1 row of the toolbar not 2nd row to allow me to pick the level header, or to add to remove a hyperlink, to name a few but they are the ones most notable missing

    I also have a question about feedback but will try and post a new note in the correct forum section
