• I’m new to wordpress. I’ve downloaded it to use on our website that is hosted by ipage. When I go to customize the blog, it allows me to enter the bog title, tagline, change colors and upload a picture, but it won’t display the theme to the right so I can see what the changes look like. I’m working blind. The page is just white. When I click the button to see the site, it takes me to my website, not the blog, and there’s nowhere to click for the blog. Should there be a wordpress button like there is a facebook and twitter button? I can’t find directions for someone who has never done this before.

    PLEASE HELP THIS IGNORANT NEWBIE!!!

I could insert a link on my website, but I can’t figure out how to find the wordpress blog at all. I went the wordpress site to see if there was a way to login from there and still couldn’t find anything.

Can I see your site? Your site URL?

That site does not appear to use WordPress…

On the ipage control panel it gives me the option to load it to use within my site. I clicked to do so and it took me to the page to customize it and that’s where it stopped. Is there something else I have to do to really make it work? Doing it all through ipage I’d think it would set it up for me correctly but that doesn’t seem to have happened.

I think you need to contact your hosts about this.

    Hi thelordsnewchurchphi,

My name is Melissa and I am the Social Media Manager here at iPage. We’ve been keeping an eye out on the forums to see about assisting customers wherever we can.

The main site appears to be built with our Drag and Drop Builder, so to incorporate a WordPress blog you would want to install it to /blog/ to separate the files. (You can actually name the folder it installs to anything you like, /blog/ is just an example.) These two builders use different coding languages and in order to make sure that the default page for the main site comes up (index.html) separate to the WordPress page (index.php) it needs to be in a separate folder.

I will reach out via more secure means to verify the security of the account so we can better assist you.

    Kind regards,

    Melissa
    Social Media Manager
