Editor Hangs When Editing Existing Pages in GeneratePress Theme.

  • Hi GeneratePress Support Team,

    I am using the GeneratePress theme and Generate Blocks editor for my website. The issue I’m facing is that whenever I open the editor to edit a page, it hangs, and after a while, the browser displays the warning message: “Pages Unresponsive: You can wait for them to become responsive or exit the pages.”

    I’ve tried using different browsers, but the issue remains the same.

    When I create a new page, the editor works fine, but when I try to edit old pages, it hangs.

    Both the GeneratePress theme and the Generate Blocks plugin are updated. Could you please let me know what might be causing this issue and why it’s happening?

  • Hi there,

    the Theme has no influence on the editors behaviour aside from the styles it loads within the editor. So its not a theme related issue,.

    Start by checking the Dashboard > Tools > Site Health on the site.
    Look for any critical issues there. And then check in that same panel Info tab and check your server settings to makes sure there is enough PHP Memory to run a WP site. I would recommend at lest 512mb.

    If there are no critical errors and the server resources are ok, check with your host and ask them to look at server response issues.
