Editor Now Too Wide When Compiling an Article

Look in the upper right corner for screen settings. Make sure it is 2 column. Your editor size will drop and you can drag what you want from below to the blank space.

for inspiration, look into the theme twenty ten:

editor-style.css:

html .mceContentBody {
	max-width: 640px;

and

functions.php:

I dont want to change themes as the site is so successful. Can I add or amend the style of my present theme?
Its also not only editor but also a few background dashboard activities such as comments

you should be able to implement the editor styles into your existing theme.

for the other activities, one would need to know the css selectors that define the width in these cases.

I have found something called post_new.php and it says that edit_php is the parent to this file.

Am I on the right track? Can someone let me know the exact code to post and in which file? My width is 617px

Have you considered a plugin? Bing this for ideas, wordpress editor plugin

I use TinyMCE and have tried to reinstall…no luck still way wide!

UPDATE…

Ok the problem isnt restricted to editor, but rather, all the menus to include comments, posts, pages etc. They are all stretched too far acrossed the screen so it has to be from a main file that controls the overall width of all.
