I am administrator of 3 web sites. All of them are using WP 6.3.1 and “Advanced editor tool” 5.9.2 (I still use the classic editor).

Only one of my websites is using “tweenty fourteen” theme and on this website i have observed a very strange comportment :

When i am editing the HOME PAGE of my website and when i presson the PREVIEW button, instead of showing the home page, it shows the list of all my posts !
I precise that this comportment is only observed while editing the HOME PAGE.

  • Mmm… that is odd. Can you confirm your homepage settings are set to static page? Also, what is the “Advanced editor tool” you are talking about? Is it a plugin?

    HI Alvaro,

Thank you for your quick answer.

I confirm that the home page settings are set to static page.

Advanced editor tool” (previously known as TinyMCE Advanced) is a plugin that allow to edit a page whether in Classic Editor mode or in Bloc mode. I use the classic editor mode.

I don’t think that the problem comes from this plugin as I used it in other websites with WP 6.3.1 … but not with Twenty Fourteen theme.

    Hi @ggldb,

Got it. I wonder if maybe this comes from a conflict, especially as you mentioned that the same preview feature worked as expected before.

This is likely caused by a conflict with a plugin. Can you try a full conflict test?

    How to test for conflicts

The best way to determine if the issue is being caused by a plugin is to:

    1. Temporarily deactivate all plugins. You can do this manually or use a plugin to help (see below for tools).
    2. Try to reproduce the problem. If the problem is resolved, it’s a plugin conflict. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, continue to the next step.
    3. Reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict.

Recommended tools to help with troubleshooting

    * Meks Quick Plugin Disabler will remember what plugins you had active when you switch it back on.
    * You can clone your site to a staging environment and perform tests without modifying your live site or impacting customers. Many hosts provide staging facilities, so it’s worth checking in with them. It’s also possible to do it using the free WP Staging plugin.

    Hi Felipe,

I have deactivated / reactivated my plugins and finally found that there was a conflict with “Broken link checker”.

For the moment I keep this plugin deactivated and everything works find.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi @ggldb, fantastic!

    Thank you for confirming that.

If you plan to use this plugin again in the future, you might also want to contact their team, so they can check this with you.

I see the folks from WPMU DEV are really active supporting it. ??
