• Hi, I have an issue with a WP site: seemingly in a random way, the Editor-role user is occasionally unable to login. Visualized error is: “Sorry, you are not authorized to perform this action” while website is at /wp-admin/ address.
Admin-role user logs in just fine.

Website has NO plugins installed to manage roles, so roles are WP defaults.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • The “Sorry, you are not authorized to perform this action” error message typically indicates a permissions issue. To troubleshoot the issue, you can try the following:

    1. Check if the Editor-role user is still assigned the correct role. You can do this by going to the “Users” section in the WordPress dashboard and checking the role assigned to the affected user.
    2. If the role is correct, try resetting the user’s password to see if that resolves the issue.
    3. Check if there are any conflicting user role assignments or capabilities that may be causing the issue.
    4. If the issue persists, you can try disabling all plugins to see if any of them are causing the problem.
    5. If none of the above steps work, you may need to contact your web hosting provider or a WordPress developer for further assistance.

    Hi. Thanks for reply.
As said, I have not modified with role permissions in this WP installation, so don’t know what’s going on here.

Anyway, asking pr password resed did allowed Editor user to log in. Thank you.
