When trying to block creation of new categories and tags for Events post-type (The Events Calendar), it is resulting in Editors not being able to edit any Events.

By default, we want all events to be accessible for editing by Editors, but to only restrict the creation of tags/categories (we’ve enabled ‘assign’ for those).

    Hi @swdmedia

Can you share screenshot on what permissions do you have for your editor?

    Thanks,

Along with the screenshots, here’s a screencast as well showing the behaviour – https://www.screencast.com/t/ssseDIDpI5j

Do you have PublishPress Capabilities installed? If yes, can you check if your role have “create event” capabilities?

Because no issue on your configuration of Permissions.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved. If you have any further questions, please reply again here, or you can start a new thread.

My apologies for the delay, I missed your reply. I’ve just added Capabilities, and Events options match your screenshot (for Editors), but still, Editors are not able to edit existing posts – they can ‘View / Duplicate’ only.

Editors are not able to edit existing posts

Does that mean Editors can create new Events?

Yes, no problem with creating an event. But once created, they can not even edit the one they just created.

Could you confirm if the issue is coming from PublishPress Permissions? Meaning before you install the PublishPress Permissions, your editor role can edit other users event just fine?

    Thread Starter geepers

    (@swdmedia)

That is correct. Without PublishPermissions they are able to edit all Events. We have this on a staging site as well in an effort to test it.

That is quite strange as we did not see something off from your screenshot in PublishPress Permissions setting.

Does this issue happens on other roles?
