• Hallo from Italy, this is my first post here!
I’ve started few months ago my blog at https://www.fotopratica.it using now WP 2.8.4 and heatmap theme 2.2 plus 3-4 plugins (google xml sitemap, internal link building, yarpp), many troubles with various “pieces” sometimes disappeared (sidebar, footer bar etc) and then fixed…Now the problem is the edit page (edit.php) for posts that is completely blank! I’ve triyng all this:

-All plugins deactivation (even recreating plugins folder via ftp)
    -Default theme reactivation
-cookie “dance” etc (using firefox 3.5)
-Database tables errors correct in phpmyadmin

Nothing work at all, please help me…

  • hello,
did you use 2.8.4 after an upgrade or did you started directly with it?

Hi Wordprest, after an upgrade from original 2.8.3 install but long time ago from the problems…

you should restore your db backup

have you idea of why this can occur? Before yesterday all was fine, yesterday withot any type of modifications, new post etc. the disaster…

I run into a similar issue when upgraded from 2.7 to 2.8; there was a bug in the new release.

As you said that you already got in troubles previously, I suspect some kind of upgrading related issue.
You could try to install a previous version of your cms and database.

Well, i’ve increased php memory in .htaccess to 128m and the edit page has appeared again! But i think host really remain to 64m because i’ve asked nothing to them…maybe is only a “virtual” information for WP?

I had the same problem recently. edit.php disappeared, then I edited the last post (just added a word or two) then updated and edit.php was working again.

Today I went to check again and it was gone.
The .htaccess didn’t work, if I restore my latest back up I will lose quite a lot of articles… any other ideas?

I really wish WP had a feature where you can test the upgrade wont break your website before committing to the upgrade.

    ??
