edit.php post listing distorted

  • Odd problem started recently on a multisite with many posts and writers.
    When viewing the All Posts list (edit.php) some of the post belonging to a few categories’ listings are shifted/squeezed or seem to be floating off the screen so it is not possible to see them properly. When I look at the source it seems the <tr> elements have 

    .preview {
float: right;

    that seem to be absent for the correctly positioned ones. I have looked at tags/category lists (because a lot are used on this site) just to see if something in their name/slug is not right. Have deactivated plugins that add columns to to the edit.php page and other plugins too but it didn’t make a difference. Most posts, but not just floating off ones, have many tags, could it be just a simplistic reason? Doubtful but thought I would mention it.

    I should add there is no caching enabled on this site.
