• When my client logs in to WP and makes edits to a page, she cannot see the changes to the site while she is connected to Wifi, but she can view them on her phone. Also, if i were to make an edit to her website from my office, they look fine to me when I check on other browsers, but she can’t see the changes. I went to her office to see exactly what she is seeing and see if I could help. She showed me a page in the WP dashboard that she had edited in WP, updated and saved. Now when I went back to my office and logged in to her site and viewed that same page, the content was all different. Now she is making these edits from her office using the internal network, and I believe that company’s internal domain and external domain share the same name. Could that be the problem? What is the solution?

    Something’s being cached somewhere.

Are you using Cloudflare? What caching plugins do you have installed?

Thanks for the quick reply. Looks like W3 Total Cache is installed, but not activated (I didn’t create the site. The people that created the website no longer work for the company). Should I activated it?

Please provide a link to a page on your site where we can see this. Thanks.

There are several pages with this issue

The following page I and everybody else can see fine, but she can’t see it. (In fact, she doesn’t even see the link on the navigation menu. Community > Central Ohio Early Childhood Supply Map). This was something we created on our end.

The next page is something she edited on her end, but we can’t see the changes on our end.

I don’t see any evidence of caching. What happens if you do a “hard reload” of the page in your browser? Usually, that’s SHIFT-F5.

I usually do that on all browsers, and no change on our end.

You say you have W3 Total Cache installed but not running?

Sometimes the cache headers ‘get wonky’ and one of the things a good cache plugin will do is set the cache control headers properly which hopefully will be honored by every proxy, archive boxen, search engine, and web browser downstream.

I’d turn on that cache plugin and give it some time to ‘do its thing’.

As to the hard reload… sometimes there’s a proxy between things that just doesn’t behave well. Hopefully, the cache controller will wake it up.

W3 Total is one of the best cache plugins… run it if you can.

Regardless, if it shows up for one person but not another, it’s not a WP issue, but something to do with caching. Does your host do server based caching? You might check with their support.

I checked the host server (HostGator) before and there is no resetting the cache in the admin that I am aware of like in other host servers.

I will activate W3 Total and see if that helps.
