I am using the Site Origin Vantage Theme and Page Builder. On some of my pages that have a text block, the text is scrambled and unformatted and not readable – doesn’t even look like html. However the same page looks fine on the front end. I only see this problem when logged into Admin.

Having deactivated all of the plugins and reactivated one by one I have concluded that this is being caused by the MetaSlider Plugin.

I can provide screen shots if required. I have also reported this to Site Origin.

  • Hi,

Are you also using MetaSlider blocks on the pages that are affected?

Yes, providing screenshot would be helpful.

The same thing happened to me. Had to revert to previous plugin version. Note that this problem only happens when we log in as an administrator. All text blocks are unnoticeable.

I tried installing both SiteOrigin Vantage Theme and SiteOriginPage Builder plugin but I still wasn’t able to replicate the issue. The editor still looks fine on my end.

Can you guys provide the step-by-step process on how I could replicate the issue. Providing the screenshot of the issue would also be helpful.

In the meantime, can you try using the shortcode block and paste the MetaSlider shortcode instead.

    Hi @yanex,

I’m Alex from SiteOrigin, and we’ve been received a few reports of this issue. I’ve run some tests and identified:

    – This issue only affects Block Editor powered pages.
    – The theme isn’t related.
    – This issue affects the SiteOrigin Layouts Block, and SiteOrign Widgets Block. It’s possible that other blocks may also be affected.
    – This issue only occurs in MetaSlider 3.23.4.

A diff of 3.23.4 and 3.23.3 shows that 3.23.4 contains a decently sized Extendify SDK update. I’ve done some targeted reverts but haven’t been able to identify the specific problematic change.

    Kind regards,
    Alex

@alexgso Do you mind adding steps to replicate this? Our team is currently diving in to take a look.

Scratch that —?we figured out what’s going on here. We’ll have an update our here shortly with the fix.

Thanks all for helping to target this!
