    Hi Julie,

The plugin is compatible with the upcoming Site Icon. Just make sure to not use the plugin and the site icon at the same time: else, there will be duplicated entries in the HTML of your site. So two solutions:
    – Use the Site Icon (… and don’t install or active the plugin).
    – Use the plugin (… and don’t define any site icon).

Now, are the Site Icon and RealFaviconGenerator equivalent? Not really. The main difference is the design of the icon. Site Icon doesn’t let you decide of the design of the icon, it only give you a (good) overview of how the icon will look like on the home screen of an iOS device. Whereas RealFaviconGenerator provides the few design options that can turn a poor icon choice into a great icon. For example, the content of the original icon often “touches” the border of the picture. On iOS, this leads to poor result. Adding margins is a simple trick but it makes all the difference. This is the kind of stuff RealFaviconGenerator offers.

Now I didn’t investigated how RealFaviconGenerator’s plugin could somehow replace the Site Icon for people who would prefer this solution… (like, replacing the “Site Icon” section in the Customizer). That’s a TODO ??

Thank you very much for the info! I did suspect that this plugin would turn out to have more options. I will be using option #2: use this plugin and don’t define a Site Icon ??

    Cheers!
