Effects not working. What is the shortcodes

I installed plugin for wordpress. Set up my parameters and saved. Placed shortcode [skitter] on my page and doesn’t show effects or any changes I save. Do I have to add to the shortcode?
I notice very little support from developer so other users of skitter please help!
