    Hi there,

I received an e-mail on 1st May with the following error: Either “name” or “item.name” must be specified.

First, in GSC, it said 84 elements are affected, now it’s already 174. (I have around 300 posts, so it seems that not all of them are affected, but I couldn’t find any correlation between the affected posts: they belong to different languages, different topics, and different categories)

Anyway, when I check one of the affected posts on Google in an incognito Window, the breadcrumbs seem to work and are displayed correctly.

I double-checked, as described on Yoast.com with Googles Structured Data Testing Tool, that Yoast is actually causing the problem.

I am using WordPress 5.4.1 and just updated to Yoast Version 14.0.4

I would like for Yoast to automatically use the breadcrumbs again instead of me having to add them manually to 174 posts.

I would be absolutely thankful for tips on how to proceed. Thanks a lot for the help in advance!

  • Hello @vickibcn,

Thank you for reaching out to us! We apologize you are having these issues with the recent release of Yoast SEO.

This issue is on our radar and is supposed to be fixed in the 14.1 release, as you can see here. We don’t have an exact ETA when this release is going to ship, unfortunately.

    Hope this helps.
