    Hi Folks!

A web dev here trying to switch to Kadence from other themes and builders.

We’ve started a site using another builder and wish to try Kadence with the Template Starter. We see many references that one “may” lose data if one installs a K template on an existing site.

We’d very much like to change direction for the development of this particular website by using a Kadence Template.

Can you share with us what could be overwritten please? A bit more tech details and implication so we can understand please? Cheers!

    Hello @gillesgagnon

When you install a starter template, several pages are created and new customizer settings are applied. For example, if you have a “Home” page, the starter template may add a new “Home” page that replaces the old page. Your home page may still exist, but the customizer settings will replace the home page with the new home page.

You can import starter templates without the content. Alternatively, you can download the pages without the customizer settings. If you already have an existing site, we recommend not importing the content, only the Customizer settings. Nonetheless, your Customizer settings will be replaced entirely. This means your header, footer, page layouts, and other styles from the Customizer will be different.

To import the customizer styles without importing the content or customizer settings, access the Advanced Settings when you’ve started to import the full site.

Thanks so much for this info @ghernkadence. Just what I needed. Cheers!
