• Resolved irreverance

    (@irreverance)

A couple of things happening here.

First, once I set up the accordion, when I’m logged into my admin account, I click on it and it opens. However, when I’m logged out, clicking on the accordion takes me back to the top of the page.

Second, when I’m working with it in Elementor (free), it tends to lock everything up. I have to completely close out the browser tab and come back to the site in another tab and open Elementor to start editing again.

I currently have an FAQ accordion live so you can see it. I prefer not to leave it live for a long time since it sends people back to the top of the page instead of working right and I don’t want it to be a bad experience for visitors.

Edit: When I’m in incognito, as I hover over the headings of the accordion, I see the website address pop up at the bottom of the browser. It seems to be reading the accordion header as a link for some reason.

Edit #2: I just noticed the address pops up when I’m logged in as well, but the accordion opens normally.

  • Hi,

To troubleshoot the issue please try this guideline:

Regenerate the CSS via Elementor > Tools > Regenerate CSS on your WordPress Dashboard. (Make sure to back up your site).
Go to Elementor > Settings on your WordPress dashboard. Click the Advanced tab and switch the CSS print method to Internal embedding.
Clear all cache: your browser’s cache, and other plugins’ cache.

If the issue persists, deactivate all plugins apart from Elementor. If this helps, reactivate them one by one to find the culprit.
If it didn’t help, switch your theme (temporarily) to a default WordPress theme such as Twenty Sixteen and see if it makes any difference.

It looks like it was having a conflict with “Top Bar”, which is odd because I have both on other sites.

Once I deactivated Top Bar, the accordion started working again.

    Edit to update

I swapped Top Bar out for WPFront Notification Bar. The problem is back.

What has me baffled is that I have Top Bar on another site, and the two work just fine together. Any idea why the notification bar plugins are interfering with the accordion on just this site?

    Edit to Update:

I also tried myStickymenu. Same thing.

    Hi,

Since the issue is caused when the plugin is activated and as we have no control over coding for third-party plugins, I highly recommend that you report this issue to the support team for this plugin so they may further troubleshoot and provide a solution.
If they need any technical details regarding Elementor, they are free to open an issue on our Github page where our developers will be happy to collaborate directly with them.
