The following is in reference to a staging site, therefore I will be unable to publicly share any links.

    ** Issue:
    – Edit with Elementor not showing on Admin bar
    – Edit with Elementor showing on page and post internally
    – When I attempt to open Edit with Elementor internally, it sends me to a blank page of horror where everything is entirely gone, sans a few lines of text, and an alert that there has been a critical error
    – When I attempt to save a draft of a page I still had open with Elementor, it will not save and presents the error message “Server Error (500 Internal Server Error)”
    – Pictures on website and other stylistic elements / formatting are entirely missing on every single page

    ** Context
    – Updated to WordPress 5.9 a few months ago
    – Updated Elementor today
    – My theme broke shortly afterwards, with Elementor editing functionality disappearing, along with my sanity

    ** Already attempted:
    – Increased PHP
    – Uninstalled and reinstalled other plug-ins
    – Uninstalled and reinstalled Elementor
    – Removed exiting theme and reverting to twenty twenty
    – Enabled / disabled “Switch Editor Loader Method”
    – Updated WordPress
    – Tried accessing on different browsers and devices
    – Tried rolling Elementor to 3.5.6 + then hitting Regenerate CSS & Data

    ** Config:
    – WordPress version 5.9.2
    – Elementor version 3.6.2
    – PHP version 7.3
    – WordPress Memory limit 128MB

Any help would be very much appreciated, thank you.

  • Hi,

Please open a new thread for each issue, otherwise, it will cause confusion.

I will relate here to the first issue with the Edit with Elementor button is missing:

It may be caused by a conflict with a plugin (an optimization plugin, for instance), or anything that can create a Javascript interference, as explained in our help center. As a workaround, it is also possible to access the editor by adding the following query to the URL of the page www. page/?elementor.

Please also check if you created a custom post type and did not tick the relevant checkbox in the settings of Elementor: https://snipboard.io/18VvJp.jpg

Hi there and thanks for responding.

These issues are all linked together and are the result of Elementor 3.6.2 failing my website. Based on the posts in the last week on this forum, it seems that many other users are reporting the same problems since the last update to the plug-in.

The edit with Elementor button is missing, meaning regardless of the workaround (I am familiar with the ones you described), Elementor refuses to open. It is obvious there is an issue with Elementor’s recent version, that caused many people’s websites to disappear, as they were built on Elementor. In fact, my website only goes back to normal when I uninstall Elementor – but then many of the page elements built with Elementor are of course gone with it.

Are you able to kindly advise on when the next update will be? Thank you

    Hi,

Please send me screenshots on the JS console while replicating the issue.

Regarding the Error 500, please send me the PHP Error logs.
