• I’ve been reading a lot about Gutenberg recently. Good, Bad or indifferent, my question is will Elementor continue to work wit Gutenberg when WP version 5 comes out? I have the trial version and added it to my test site that is running Elementor. I can still choose to edit in Elementor and it seems to work fine. I also understand there is a new Elementor plugin for Gutenberg, will this replace the existing Elementor plugin?

  • Hi Les,

As explained in the link I provided earlier: https://elementor.com/blog/blocks-for-gutenberg/ this plugin will certainly not replace Elementor.

Elementor Blocks is a separate plugin, downloadable from the WordPress repository (it will be eventually incorporated within the core of our plugin). It allows you to embed Elementor templates inside the Gutenberg editor with one click.

In the future, will Gutenberg replace Elementor?
The answer is simple – absolutely not!

It might be a good idea to subscribe to their blog, that way you get this kind of news first hand ??

Annie, you got me hooked on Elementor, I don’t want to loose it. One big issue I noticed was if I edit a page in Elementor when I go to the live page it looks the same. If I edit in Gutenberg and go to the live page, it rearranges just like WP does.

Update: I just read, The new plugin lets you access Elementor from within the Gutenberg edit page. That being said, you still have the choice to edit with Elementor.

    Haha, I kind a did,didn’t I?
Actually, I just gave you that little push into that direction.
Elementor did the rest! It’s addictive haha.

I played a bit with Gutenberg, but honestly I do not want/have to waste too much time on the beta for now. It is still undergoing a lot of changes and fixes, so chances are, things will act differently when it will finally get pushed thrue.

I activated the https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/classic-editor/ and when it is officially out there, I will gradually start testing it with Elementor in staging sites.

Have you updated your Elementor to the most current version?
Not that it should make a difference but do you have Free or pro Elementor?
