    Hello,

Since tonight the elementor plugin keeps deleting/removing itself from my website. I have tried to use back-ups of my website, but it does not work. It just keeps doing the same thing.

Does anybody know why this is happening. Is there a major bug in the plugin???

    With kind regards,

    Sergio

It sounds like you’re experiencing an issue with the Elementor plugin on your website; I can offer some general advice that might help you address the problem:

    1. Check Plugin Compatibility: Ensure that your version of Elementor is compatible with your WordPress installation. Sometimes, updates to either WordPress or Elementor can cause compatibility issues.
    2. Plugin Conflict: Deactivate all other plugins except Elementor and see if the problem persists. If it doesn’t, reactivate your plugins one by one to identify if there’s a conflict with another plugin causing Elementor to delete itself.
    3. Theme Compatibility: Switch temporarily to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty-One or Twenty Twenty-Two to see if the issue is related to your current theme.
    4. File Permissions: Check the file permissions on your server to ensure that Elementor files are not being inadvertently deleted due to incorrect permissions settings.
    5. Error Logs: Check your server error logs or WordPress debug logs for any error messages that might provide insight into why Elementor is removing itself.

Looking forward to hearing from you

    Hello Milos,

First of all, thanks for the tips.

But everything worked fine untill today. The plugin was delivered and recommended by the theme I bought. So I am working with it since the beginning.

I only noticed that when I set the back-up from yesterday the plugin is trying to update itself. But I get an email from wordpress that the update has failed and then when I look the plugin is removed from my wordpress.

Do you know what it is that it could be? It worked fine untill last evening.

    Kind regards,

    Hi there,

It’s indeed puzzling that the issue arose suddenly without any apparent changes to your website. Since you mentioned that the plugin tries to update itself but fails, leading to its removal from WordPress, here are a few additional steps you can take:

    1. Check Plugin Update Logs: If possible, check if there are any logs or error messages related to the plugin update process. This might provide more insights into why the update is failing.
    2. Server Configuration Changes: Sometimes server configurations can change unexpectedly, leading to issues with plugin updates or installations. Contact your hosting provider to see if there have been any recent changes to your server environment.
    3. WordPress File Permissions: Double-check the file permissions for your WordPress installation. Ensure that the directory where plugins are stored has the correct permissions for WordPress to update or install plugins.
    4. Plugin Compatibility: While the Elementor plugin itself may be compatible with your theme, it’s possible that a recent update to either the theme or Elementor introduced a compatibility issue. Check if there are any recent updates to either the theme or Elementor, and if so, try reverting to an earlier version to see if the issue persists.
    5. Temporary Plugin Deactivation: As a temporary measure, you can try deactivating the automatic update feature for Elementor. This will prevent WordPress from attempting to update the plugin automatically, allowing you to investigate the issue further without the risk of the plugin being removed.
    6. Contact Theme Support: Since the theme you’re using recommended the Elementor plugin, it’s worth reaching out to their support team as well. They may have insights into any recent changes or updates that could be causing conflicts with Elementor.
    7. WordPress Debugging: Enable WordPress debugging to capture any errors or warnings that might occur during the update process. This can provide valuable information for troubleshooting the issue further.
