• Hi,

With Tutor LMS enabled, all of my bullet points in a basic Elementor text widget are being pushed out of their container.

This has been happening on all versions of Tutor LMS 2 and on all of the pages on my site, not just lesson pages.

Disabling the Tutor LMS plugin resolves the issue.

When I inspect the element, it seems that Tutor LMS is forcing the padding on all of my widgets to be zero?

    1. How do I fix this?
    2. Why is Tutor LMS changing the styles on all of my widgets, even ones that have nothing to do with Tutor LMS?

    Thank you for your help!

  • Hello @ucdguy,

I am from team Tutor LMS. We are sorry to see you go through these issues. Tutor LMS is not supposed to change the styles of unrelated widgets this why. We are not sure whether it is a site specific issue.

But you can fix these issues by applying custom CSS. I hope this will help.

As you have reported the issue, we are going to investigate and bring possible fixes to the plugin if required.

Thank you so much for using Tutor LMS.

I can confirm that this is not a site-specific issue and is instead caused by a conflict with Tutor LMS and the Hello Elementor theme (and possibly other themes – see below).

    To reproduce the issue:

    1. I created a WordPress sandbox environment from scratch here.
    2. I installed and activated only the Elementor and Tutor LMS plugins.
    3. I installed and activated the Hello Elementor theme.
    4. I created a new page (not a lesson) and added an Elementor text widget with bullet points.
    5. This reproduces the issue as seen here.
    6. The issue goes away if I either 1) switch to the Twenty Twenty-Two theme or 2) deactivate Tutor LMS.

Based on the gif from my first post, I don’t think this is the only theme this occurs in. It seems that if the theme itself does not have a CSS rule that defines the margin and padding of elements, it will instead inherit them from the Tutor LMS plugin.

    1. Can you confirm that you can reproduce this issue (by adding bullet points to an Elementor text widget with both the Tutor LMS plugin and Hello Elementor theme activated)?
    2. Can you explain why it is happening?

    Thanks again!

    Dear @ucdguy

I have checked my website according to your instruction and didn’t face this kind of issue. Please check the video below.

I don’t understand, you very clearly have that issue in your video?

Put a black border around the text widget (and don’t manually add a margin or padding). The bullet points will appear outside the text widget as seen here, isn’t that right?

Now deactivate the Tutor LMS plugin. The bullet points are now inside the border.

Therefore, Tutor LMS is changing the CSS of Elementor widgets on pages (even non-lesson pages) (when the Hello Elementor theme is active).

    See my new recording below.

    Can you explain why?

    Dear @ucdguy

I did same thing as you said but I didn’t face this issue. Please check screenshots below.

    Hi,

The images above are not the same as in your previous recording. (Why have you put a red box around the area that includes the word “Background”? That’s not the area that I’m talking about.)

In your recording, the bullet point dots appeared outside the blue rectangle in your editor as shown here. This is not normal behaviour as shown here. If you add a border to that text editor, the bullet points will appear outside that border like shown here.

Disabling the Tutor LMS plugin then reverts it to the normal behaviour of including the dots within the border, both in the editor and on the front end.

I want you to record a quick 10 second video. Start here and then do nothing else but put a border around the bullet points only (not the word “Background”).

What happens? And does anything change when you then disable the plugin?

It is tough to solve this type of technical problem without checking it manually. Could you please email support at themeum dot com? We will take a closer look at your issue.

    Thank you!

“It is tough to solve this type of technical problem without checking it manually.”

No, it isn’t. It really isn’t. This is an incredibly easy thing to reproduce.

I’ve literally shown you how to reproduce the issue multiple times now (and even what’s causing the issue in my first post). I’ve now had three different members of the support team stating that they cannot even reproduce it.

As a pro user, that is not only frustrating but very concerning. It is an unbelievably easy thing to reproduce. Yet, not only can you seemingly not do that, you have forced me to spend more of my time creating a staging environment to show that it had nothing to do with my specific website. And yet you still cannot even acknowledge that the issue exists.

I have, once again, recreated the issue from a blank WordPress environment below. Even slower this time. I would like for you to explain why it was necessary for me to create this video.

    Dear @ucdguy

Kindly review my previous response. I followed your instructions and did not encounter the issue you mentioned. If you are a user of Tutor LMS Pro, please get in touch with Themeum support with your order number. Please ensure that you use the email associated with your themeum.com account while contacting support.

    Have a good day.

    “I followed your instructions.”

    No, you haven’t. At all.

I have asked you to record a 10 second video. Your continuous refusal to do that is bizarre.

Start from your previous recording here, with the bullet point dots outside the blue rectangle, and then put a border around only the text widget containing the bullet points. Post this screen recording below.

If you refuse to spend the minute it takes to record and post that recording below, you are demonstrating that I cannot get even the most basic levels of support when requested. I will therefore not be renewing my pro licence in that case. That is your decision to make.

I have asked you to record a 10 second video. Those screenshots contradict your previous recording as the blue rectangle is not the same in both.

Again, I will not be renewing my licence if you do not make that 10 second recording. That is your decision to make.

That is not what I asked you to do.

Start here, on the same page that you were using before, with the bullet point dots outside the blue rectangle as they were at the start of your recording here. Then, put a border around that text widget.

    (@ucdguy)

I am giving you 24 hours to complete my simple request that I have now asked you to do multiple times.

If you do not do it, I will not be renewing my licence and will also be leaving a review discussing the other issues that I have found with this plugin below.
