    Hi!

I am hoping you can help me, I am using Elementor(free), Elementor Esssential Addons (free), Polylang (free), and Connect Polylang Elementor. All of this is working perfectly, except when trying to make a elementor post grid for the multiple languages we support. When using the Category filter within the query, it only allows me to select the default language categories that are already created and populated.

We have spanish categories populated with post content, all other elements are working correctly. These English / Spanish posts are connected as translations. The Categories are created as English / Spanish counterparts and are connected as translations.

How can I select the Spanish Language categories within the elementor post grid?

    Thanka in advance!

Hello and sorry for the hassles you seem to be having.

For starters, I think the best thing for you to do, would be to try to register the plugin strings in Polylang. Fortunately, there is a plugin for that, I just don’t have much experience with it myself.

Here is the link to that plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/theme-translation-for-polylang/

Please make sure that you have translated your categories correctly. As in, you used the + button to create the categories.

Looks good to me. Before you edit with Elementor. Try being in the language that you want to edit in. By using the language selector in the admin toolbar, select your language, then edit in elementor. Make sure there are no other language or elementor windows open.

So i finally just used the english categories in the spanish page to try it, and it’s using the correct version of the article in the correct language now. ??? the setting uses english categories but it’s pulling the spanish post when loading the element. So the front end is showing the correct thing, even though the backend setup is not.

    oh well it works.
