• Hi,

I’ve just migrated https://www.wattagemedia.co.uk from a localhost set-up whereby I used elementor for the whole site content.

It’s migrated across fine but is taking about 13 seconds to load pages, that’s if they don’t time out before they load.

The homepage loads normally even though it’s the only page with a hero slider, all the other pages just use ‘elementor’ yet they are the slowest (https://www.wattagemedia.co.uk/services). It’s certain that elementor as a plugin is the cause of the slow load speeds.

Google Pageview insights is showing a score of 26/100 (for desktop) : https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.wattagemedia.co.uk%2F&tab=desktop

There’s only 3 other plugins (hero slider, Contact form 7, tablepress) and I deactivated and also renamed those 3 plugins but there was no improvement and/or conflict.

The web host has confirmed no issues and on their advice, PHP has now been updated to 7.0 and memory limit maxed out.

All links have been changed over in the database okay and to accommodate the SSL certificate.

I considered upgrading to ‘pro’ but if the site is incredibly slow, then it’s pointless upgrading.

Would be grateful for any suggestions,

    Jack

I’m in the process of optimising the images as they are very large however even on pages with no images, the load time is 61 seconds

I think it’s probably a safe bet the plugin isn’t an issue given it’s used in a lot of different sites without slow down.

Your best test-case scenario would be to load up WordPress using the same environment you have your current site on and add Elementor with only twentyseventeen and see if you’re experiencing massive slow downs.

If you are and after disabling it, it’s okay then maybe there’s a case to consider.

From themes, site caching by the host, to the other plugins you have installed it’s premature to only pin Elementor as the problem.
