    Hello,

I’m facing an issue I believe after latest WP update (Version 5.8.2).

When editing widgets like text editor, the tabs to edit do not appear. In other widget i have the tabs appear but once i click on them there is not options to edit (image here)

Elementor is buggy after the latest WP update. Not sure if any other person is facing the same issue.

Any ideas what could cause this issue and how to solve it?

Note: No other plugins were installed, neither theme was changed. Nothing was changed except from the WP new version udpate.

    Thanks for your support.

    Additional notes:
    – Curiosity it works well on Microsoft Edge browser
    – I tried to clear Google Chrome cache, just in case, but the issue remains.
    – I also cleared cache from wordpress

    What could cause this?

I don’t want to use Edge browser (sorry). Would like to understand why it stopped working in google chrome.

This error is so annoying. Using Google Chrome in incognito mode it works. I already cleared cache from google, what is going on here?

    Hi @michellei

Thanks for your reply, i might have not been clear with my requirements, but that does not support at all.

Also the behaviour mentioned in the URL you provided is not exactly the same I’m having.

To summurize and following the article, I do have:
    – 5.8.2 WP version
    – PHP 8.0.11 (cli) (built: Sep 21 2021 18:26:06) ( ZTS Visual C++ 2019 x64 )
    – 10.4.21-MariaDB
    – 512MB WP memory limit
    – Chrome version 95.
    – I use my laptop to work on WP.

Already mentioned but here are additonal notes:

    – it was working fine before, using Google Chrome. IT stopped working suddently.
    – it works when using incognito mode in Google Chrome
    – it works when using Edge browser (normal mode).
    – i cleared Google Chrome cache
    – i cleared WP cache
    – no additional plugins where added/removed
    – the theme was not changed
    – WP version was updated to the newest one (not sure if its related but would like to mention that this was the nly change i can say it occured before i started to see the weird behaviour… stil it works in incognito mode so… wouldn’t say its because of this)

Any more ideas what could be the issue?

    Thanks

ALso, I’m running WordPress locally, not webhosted. I’m using Xampp.

I see a bunch of errors when editing in Elementor, specifically when trying to edit “Text Editor Widget”, maybe this could also help you in supporting this ticket.

    Hi,

This guide is relevant to your issue as well.

Have you tried deactivating all of your plugins besides Elementor, or switching the theme?

In addition, I see you have PHP 8, which has a known issue with Elementor. Please try to downgrade to PHP 7.4 to see if it makes a difference.

    Hi @michellei ,

I did what you mentioned and it didn’t work.

Also i noticed a new version on Elementor and updated it, still same behaviour.

Those kinda of fixes or root causes downgrade PHP, play with plugins, etc. does not makes too much sense to me, as it was working fine for weeks and nothing was changed (except new version of WP).

Also, again… Please note when using Google Chrome in incognito mode or any other browser it works fine. So wouldn’t be because of PHP or any other stuff version, right?

It seems to me its something related with cache or browser, however I’ve already (as mentioned) cleared the cache from WP and Google Chrome.

Do you know if anyone faced issue like this? I need more concret ideas (that makes sense to my issue and scenario).

Fixed the issue, but not sure what was causing.

Basically i jsut reinstalled google chrome. Maybe some setting that i set was causing this. Maybe worths to investigate more on your side.

I didn’t have extensions except my antivirus mcafee and adblock plus. This extensions were enabled all the time so perhaps other setting caused the issue. Can’t tell what is as I don’t recall if or what i changed meanwhile in google chrome definitions.
