    Hi,

Thank you for this excellent plugin, its the best cache plugin I’ve used. When running a performance test I’m getting around 97-98 for Desktop, but for mobile I’m only getting around 74-78.

This appears to be mostly because of render-blocking CSS resources such as:
    /wp-content/plugins/tablepress/css/default.min.css
    /wp-content/plugins/tablepress-responsive-tables/css/tablepress-responsive.min.css

I’ve gone into Advanced Asset Optimization and turned on ‘Combine’, ‘Move to Footer’ and ‘Inline CSS’ for all these files, then pressed published changes and re-run the performance test. However, the results show these files are still listed as render-blocking resources. I tried turning off ‘Combine’ for these files in case it was causing a conflict with move to footer, but this also had no effect.

    Any help appreciated.

    Hi @andyt1980

I hope you’re well today and thank you for your question!

I’m afraid sometimes it’s not possible to deal with all the assets. There’s always the chance that some specific files cannot be optimized more and it won’t always be possible to eliminate all the “render blocking resources”.

If these options don’t work, try additionally “forcing” clearing the cache (especially if there’s any server-side cache in addition to Hummingbird). Even though Hummingbird would automatically stop caching during asset optimization process, it’s might be worth giving a shot.

To clear it – use “Clear Cache” button on “Hummingbird -> Dashbaord” page rather than any other.

If it still doesn’t help, I’m afraid that might be the case when not much more can be done with these files. I wouldn’t really worry about that much, though. If it’s just these two files it’s unlikely that they actually do affect site loading speed in a noticeable way, especially for visitors that are not the “First time visitors” but have already visited your site before (as those files would most likely be cached in browser anyway).

    Best regards,
    Adam
