• A couple of months ago I published a basic WP site using The Producer theme.

It is now up and running, with 3 pages, and no posts or comments.

Assume the domain is joezbloggs.com (it isn’t, but you know what I mean).

A Google search for the website produces (amongst other results):

    Uncategorized | Joez Bloggs

Is there some way of making sure they don’t show up in Google? They produce 404 results.

    Thanks.

  • If they produce a proper 404 status, Google will eventually remove them. Note that a 404 page doesn’t necessarily mean that a 404 status is being delivered. Search Google for a “server header checker” and then pop in your URLs into one of these tools to confirm the header status.

If you want to try to expedite the process you can request that Google remove certain URLs via their Webmaster Tools. If you do this, be careful as you can inadvertently request that your whole site be removed if you’re not careful.

Many thanks, Marios – that’s much appreciated, and I’ll follow your advice.
